Job Summary:  Provides a variety of tasks associated with the proper administration of mortgage loans, and may meet with customers to originate loan applications.  Process loan applications to meet government and investor guidelines.

Essential Duties:

  • Receives and prepares files from brokers for underwriting.
  • Quality review and junior underwriting the application and credit package to ensure within underwriting guidelines.
  • Acts as a liaison between Brokers, Loan Officer, investors and Mortgage Manager to ensure submitted files qualify for regulatory guidelines.
  • Process and close mortgage loan according to established regulations, product guidelines and procedures (government, in house, conforming and non conforming).
  • Assists in the loan closings and answers routine questions regarding the mortgage loan process.
  • Prepare loan applications for investor underwriting and follow thru to funding under investor guidelines
  • Input and run automated approvals in FNMA, Freddie Mac and investor underwriting internet engines for preapproval
  • Assist Loan Officers in product guidelines, preparing good faith estimate and proper disclosure packages
  • Reviews title policies, appraisals, borrower provided information and internal verifications for accuracy and conformance to program guidelines
  • Enter loan data into the computer software program, LaserPro and Byte Pro.
  • Update and monitor on-line application web site
  • Monitor current loan files for proper title endorsements and inspections.
  • Instruct Title Officer's and Broker's with funding/closing conditions.
  • Responsible for general system maintenance as needed.
  • Back-up person to generate and e-mail loan documents for in-house loans.
  • Oversees primary compliance and quality control for the Mortgage Division.
  • Marketing to Brokers and Realtors for Mortgage business.
  • Customer Service for numerous diverse customers and clients.
  • Complete required training and compliance with Bank Secrecy Act/Anti-Money Laundering policies,      procedures, including identification of suspicious activity, CTR (Currency Transaction Report) preparation and other job specific policies/procedures pertaining to this position.
  • May be asked to perform other duties as required by business needs.

 Education / Experience:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent.
  • This position typically requires previous loan processing mortgage lending and/or mortgage affiliated experience. 
  • Knowledge of mortgage guidelines and procedures.

 Minimum Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of lending laws and practices, specifically mortgage lending.
  • Ability to develop and maintain organizational structure.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with a diverse group of people.
  • Ability to prioritize, meets deadlines, and coordinates a variety of activities.
  • Skills in the operation of a personal computer with word processing and spreadsheet software, PC based programs, mortgage processing programs and intra/internet.
  • Ability to work independently and make sound judgments.
  • Ability to understand many areas of banking and mortgage lending
  • Exposure to mortgage lending guidelines and procedures.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position constantly. 
  • The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets and other office machinery; such as a copy and/or fax machine.
  • Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery; such as a calculator, copy machine, and printer.
  • The person in this position constantly communicates with employees and/or customers with inquiries.  Must be able to exchange information in these situations.
  • Constantly assesses information from computer, manuals, spreadsheets and other bank systems.
  • Ability to transport file boxes to another work location (records vault).
  • Ability to drive and/or ride in a vehicle to attend educational training or required meetings.
