Job Summary: Operates, installs, configures and repairs software and hardware connected to the local server and workstations under the supervision of the IS Manager. Establish, monitor, and troubleshoot network connectivity, hardware, software, and performance tools, as required. Assist with computer & printer functions, as needed, to include resolving trouble tickets and user issues. Reports to the IS Manager.

Essential Duties:

  • Unpacks, connects, and installs the operating system on the computers as directed.
  • Installs application programs such as Word, Excel, Microsoft Outlook, etc. as directed.
  • Install updates to various banking software as scheduled.
  • Performs basic trouble shooting to determine the source of the errors limited to basic diagnosis such as isolating the problem to the hardware or software.
  • Provides training and assistance to users.
  • Works closely with Network Support Technician in identifying, recommending, providing advice, troubleshooting, and following up to assist users in solving hardware & software problems.
  • Work with third party vendors for support and troubleshooting Network problems.
  • Prepares equipment and data for processing operations according to job set-up for off-site branches and follows production schedule.
  • Provide help desk support to internal and/or external users of the banks' computer systems.
  • Complete required training and compliance with Bank Secrecy Act/Anti-Money Laundering policies, procedures, including identification of suspicious activity, CTR (Currency Transaction Report) preparation and other job specific policies/procedures pertaining to this position.
  • May perform other duties as required by business needs.

 

 


Education / Experience:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Typically requires 10-key ability.
  • Typically requiring broad technical and practical knowledge of PC hardware troubleshooting, diagnostic testing, and repairing.


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Strong technical knowledge of telecommunications, network, and PC operating systems.
  • Knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws.
  • Skills in the operation of a personal computer with word processing and spreadsheet software and intra/internet.
  • Knowledge of mechanical tasks related to PC's, such as replacing the memory, power supply unit or other hardware components.
  • Must have a valid driver's license to drive a vehicle to bank branch locations to complete IT related duties, attend required meetings, and educational training as needed.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with a diverse group of people.
  • Ability to operate a fax and copy machine.
  • Ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work in an environment with a high volume of production.

 

 

 Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position constantly.
  • The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets and other office machinery; such as a copy and/or fax machine.
  • Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery; such as a calculator, copy machine, and printer.
  • The person in this position frequently communicates with employees and/or customers with inquiries. Must be able to exchange information in these situations.
  • Constantly assesses information from computer, manuals, spreadsheets and other bank systems.
  • Ability to transport file boxes to another work location (records vault).
  • Must have a valid driver's license to drive a vehicle to bank branch locations to complete IT related duties, attend required meetings, and educational training as needed.
  • Frequently transports moderately heavy objects, such as computers and peripherals.
