TRAINING SUMMARY: This position is intended for a candidate who has been accepted into the Staff Development Program with a focus on learning the Branch Operations Supervisor role. This position will exercise all the essential duties below under direct supervision of the Branch Administrator and Human Resources Manager or a Branch Manager assigned to help with the training.

A candidate should be able to independently perform the essential duties upon completion of the program.

Candidate shall remain in their current job assignment during their training except when being reassigned for a specific training assignment.

Job Summary: Generally responsible for the lead functions over the tellers and new account employees, including scheduling work, training staff, and providing cross-training as necessary.

Essential Duties:

  • Routinely and consistently provides leadership in problem solving, customer service training to enhance and increase productivity of tellers and new account personnel.
  • Directly supervises the Teller and New Account positions.
  • Ensures bank policies and procedures are followed and ensures all compliance and regulatory requirements are met.
  • Help delegate tasks and monitor workflow in order to support cross training efforts.
  • Research various customer and clerical problems, may include balancing customer checkbook.
  • Responsible for time clock maintenance and absentee recordkeeping.
  • Maintain daily branch balancing standards; locate outages; reports exceptions, errors, and serious personnel issues to the manager after making appropriate efforts to resolve.
  • May help monitor employee performance and work closely with the manager in coaching employees on performance improvement objectives.
  • Participates in the selection, evaluation, and development of branch employees.
  • May perform site/facility management administration duties in the absence of the manager, including the proper maintenance of the branch.
  • May perform teller and new account duties as needed, especially in small branch locations.
  • Assists in the Bank's support of positive development in our communities, and may be asked to represent the Bank in formal and informal business functions.
  • Complete required training and compliance with Bank Secrecy Act/Anti-Money Laundering policies, procedures, including identification of suspicious activity, CTR (Currency Transaction Report) preparation and other job specific policies/procedures pertaining to this position.
  • May perform other duties as required by business needs.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Requires a thorough understanding of and experience in teller and new account functions.
  • BEO Teller I, II, Certifications required; Teller III Certification must be obtained no later than one year after being accepted in the program.
  • Excellent customer service skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to effectively promote and sell bank products and services.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Skills in the operation of a personal computer with word processing and spreadsheet software and intra/internet.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
  • Ability to prioritize daily work assignments.
  • Ability to operate a fax, copy machine, online teller system, and coin counter.
  • Ability to understand banking debits/credits.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position constantly.
  • The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets and other office machinery; such as a copy and/or fax machine.
  • Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery; such as a calculator, copy machine, and printer.
  • The person in this position frequently communicates with employees and/or customers on the phone with inquiries. Must be able to exchange information in these situations.
  • Ability to transport file boxes to another work location (i.e., records vault).
  • Ability to drive and/or ride in a vehicle to attend educational training, staff training or required meetings.
