Job Summary: Directs the operation of a full service branch office. Supervise branch personnel. Maintain relationships with customers and implements bank policy as directed at branch level. Responsible for the growth and profitable operation of the branch. This position may have some responsibility for consumer lending in a branch location. May originate mortgage loan application package and follow through to closing for branch customers. 

 Essential Duties:

    • Responsible for all facets of the branch's daily operations.
    • Routinely provide leadership in problem solving, sales, and customer service to enhance and increase productivity of tellers and new account personnel and to improve the financial and operational performance of the branch.
    • Directly supervises Teller and New Account staff or indirectly if a Branch Operations Supervisor is located in a branch.
    • Delegate tasks and monitor workflow in order to support cross training efforts.
    • May be responsible for time clock maintenance and absentee recordkeeping.
    • Responsible for training staff, and cross training as necessary.
    • Promote bank products and services.
    • Ensure branch compliance with all bank procedures, policies and regulations.
    • Responsible for the expansion of existing business relationships, and the development of new business.
    • Be an advocate in the Bank's support of positive development in our communities, and represent the Bank at formal and informal business functions.
    • Conduct monthly staff meetings with branch personnel.
    • Maintain daily branch balancing standards; locate outages; reports exceptions, errors, and serious personnel issues to the Branch Administrator after making appropriate efforts to resolve.
    • Responsible for monitoring performance, documenting corrective action, conducting performance evaluations and coaching employees on performance improvement objectives.
    • Responsible for the selection, evaluation, and development of branch employees.
    • May function as branch security officer; ensure proper security training of employees.
    • Responsible for monthly branch Certifications.
    • May perform teller and new account duties as needed, depending on branch size.
    • May service consumer lending for branch customers such as, interviewing, accepting applications, answering loan questions and approving loans up to their assigned loan limit.
    • May originate mortgage loan application package and follow through to closing.
    • Manage cash orders, shipments and the branch cash limit.
    • Complete required training and compliance with Bank Secrecy Act/Anti-Money Laundering policies, procedures, including identification of suspicious activity, CTR (Currency Transaction Report) preparation and other job specific policies/procedures pertaining to this position.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Assigned branch personnel
  • Assigning work, giving instructions, reviewing work, recommending salary increases, selecting new employees, acting on employee problems, transfer, promotions, and handling terminations.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • This position requires 3-5 years branch operations and supervisory experience.
  • Excellent customer service skills with attention to detail.
  • 3-5 years business or community development experience in the financial services industry.
  • Advanced knowledge of Vertex, JHA system, and Deposit Pro.
  • Knowledge of current management and leadership methods and practices.
  • Ability to develop business goals, conduct team building and manage personnel development activities.
  • Ability to effectively promote and sell bank products and services.
  • Ability to direct and supervise the work of others.
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
  • Skills in the operation of a personal computer with word processing and spreadsheet software and intra/internet.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
  • Ability to prioritize and coordinate a variety of activities.
  • Basic knowledge of bank lending policy and practices.
  • Ability to operate a fax, copy machine, online teller system, and coin counter.
  • Ability to understand banking debits/credits.

Education:

  • A High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Requires a thorough understanding of and experience in branch banking operations.


Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position constantly.
  • The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets and other office machinery; such as a copy and/or fax machine.
  • Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery; such as a calculator, copy machine, and printer.
  • The person in this position frequently communicates with employees and/or customers with           inquiries. Must be able to exchange information in these situations.
  • Constantly assesses information from computer, manuals, spreadsheets and other bank systems.
  • Ability to transport file boxes to another work location (records vault).
  • Ability to drive and/or ride in a vehicle to attend educational training or required meetings.
  • Ability to transport 0-20 pound coin bags from work station to vault area.
