Job Summary: Responsible for the daily bank secrecy compliance related operations, to include the BSA Risk Management System and activities related to AML, OFAC, and similar transaction risk monitoring functions.

Essential Duties:

  • Research and validate exception activity daily according to BSA, AML, and OFAC policy and procedures
  • Process BSA, AML, and OFAC queries for all accounting applications, to include Deposits, Loans, Electronic Banking, and Teller systems
  • Daily monitoring of BSA/BAM (large cash transactions)
  • Review daily Currency Transaction Reports (CTRs) & submit for filing
  • Complete OFAC Certifications
  • Conduct Bi-weekly 314A searches
  • Verify all account transactions and maintains records
  • Update customer accounts according to identified risk factors and history
  • Prepare reports and analyses of BSA, AML, OFAC exceptions as required
  • Research questions and take appropriate action
  • Ensures daily input activity balances to the appropriate General Ledger Accounts
  • Complete required training and compliance with BSA/AML policies, procedures, including identification of suspicious activity, CTR preparation
  • Receive and coordinate Suspicious Activity Forms (SAFs) as received
  • Consult with BSA Officer when necessary for filing Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs)
  • Monitor high risk customers
  • Monitor and review Money Service Business (MSB) and Cash Intensive customers
  • Must stay up-to-date with BSA regulations and attend trainings as needed which may include travel
  • Training bank staff on BAM functions
  • May perform other duties and cross-train as required by business needs

Education / Experience:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent
  • Requires strong familiarity with computer online systems and 1 to 2 years experience in a banking/financial institution.
  • 1 to 2 years Teller experience highly desirable
  • 1 to 2 years New Accounts experience highly desirable

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Experience with Teller/Vertex system and strong understanding of key functions
  • Ability to maintain highest level of confidentiality
  • Knowledge of incoming account transactions and CIF functions
  • Strong familiarity with computer online systems
  • Ability to develop and maintain organizational structure
  • Ability to coordinate a variety of activities and prioritize work, with special attention to detail
  • Knowledge of bank regulations, especially Bank Secrecy Act (BSA)
  • Strong understanding of bank operations and uses his/her technical and interpersonal /problem-solving skills
  • Strong clerical skills including filing, typing, 10-key, and answering the phone
  • Skills in the operation of a personal computer, online systems, word processing, spreadsheet software, and intra/internet
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
  • Ability to operate a fax and copy machine
  • Ability to drive and/or travel to other bank locations as needed


Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position constantly
  • The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets and other office machinery; such as a copy and/or fax machine
  • Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery; such as a calculator, copy machine, and printer
  • The person in this position frequently communicates with employees and/or customers with daily BSA compliance related inquiries. Must be able to exchange information in these situations
  • Constantly assess BSA, AML, and OFAC queries of all accounting applications, to include Deposits, Loans, Electronic Banking, and Teller systems
  • Ability to transport file boxes to another work location (records vault)
  • Ability to drive and/or ride in a vehicle to attend training or required meetings
